It took me until I was 35 to realise I had a mind of my own. The joyous realisation became dismay when an invoice from a debtor informed me it had been repossessed. Not wanting the empty space in my cranium to be entirely wasted, I invited in a friendly sparrow. He resides there now, and his birdsong soothes in ways the chafing cogs never did.
